Clubman originated from a fragrance named “The Exhibition Bouquet” which was initially formulated especially for The Great Exhibition of 1851, housed at Crystal Palace. The name “Grafton” was given to Truefitt & Hill’s newly blended fragrance in 1983 at the suggestion of one of HMS Grafton’s officers, who particularly liked this unmistakably masculine aroma and suggested that the new fragrance be named after the gracious line of HMS battleships.
