Clubman originated from a fragrance named “The Exhibition Bouquet” which was initially formulated especially for The Great Exhibition of 1851, housed at Crystal Palace. This classic, woody fragrance with spicy oriental notes was named to commemorate a long line of HMS Grafton Battleships. The name “Grafton” was given to Truefitt & Hill’s newly blended fragrance in 1983 at the suggestion of one of HMS Grafton’s officers, who particularly liked this unmistakably masculine aroma and suggested that the new fragrance be named after the gracious line of HMS battleships. A sophisticated fragrance for men of distinction - a classic blend of fresh, spicy, green herbaceous top notes and a dry, spicy floral heart, resting on a rich, woody, amber and musk base.
